i am taking part in this years edinburgh marathon on 31st may in memory of ellie mai. please suuport my efforts by making a donation, no matter how small, to her tribute fund through this page to help ensure other parents dont have to go through the horrifying events that ellie mai's parents had to go through. thank you so much on behalf of ellie mai

we made it !!!!!

well we did it 4 hours 7 mins and 30 seconds Happy with that for my first marathon Was hoping for sub 4 hrs but no running for 2 weeks prior due to my knee and temperatures peaking at 27c seemed to conspire against that. was proud to carry Ellie mai's name on the front and back of my vest and her picture pinned to me aswell Thank you fou your help Ellie-mai Now you will have to help me get all the money in we are owed!! arghhhhh !!!!!! nearly there. did 10k but knee wasnt brill. hammering the physio now. Will get there, gotta somehow I never knew you Ellie-mai but your auntie di keeps telling me how special you are. We can do this. Stay with me and help me. I am so proud to have your name on my vest. God bless you Ellie-Mai. 3 weeks left managed another 20 mile run last week but my knees were oh so sore did 8 last night, worried now as left knee is sore again doing the manchester 10k on sunday then it might just have to be rest till the big day need you to get my knee right for us ellie mai will crawl over that finish line if i have to

oh no, its getting closer not really run for two weeks whilst on holiday did my first 10k on monday since back need to get some serious milte done these next couple of weeks anxious but excited now. also very proud. received great support from ellies family, thank you to you all

another week gone blisters nearly gone but at the cost of one toe nail!!!! on the plus side took part in the liverpool half marathon on sunday and set a new PB of 1 hr 41 and 40 secs. Least something improving Need to get used to running for longer though now. Have got my vest for Edinburgh too, looks great with Ellies name on it. Come on Ellie, give me a push.

10 Weeks to go

Another week closer. Not done any runninng this week. Still got a very bad toe from last weeks 20 miler. Will try tomorrow and wednesday then its the Liverpool Half Marathon on sunday. Hopefully my meningitis running vest will be here by then. If it is I can wear it on sunday with Ellie Mai' s name on the front for all to see. I will be so proud to do so. Hope she is watching again

Gareth i am ellie mai's grandad and i would like to wholeheartedly thank you and wish you luck for the edinburgh marathon.Life has been tough for us all since ellie was taken away but knowing your doing this for her brings comfort to us all so once again i thank you for that.If i'd known about the marathon i would have loved to have joined you and if your ever doing anything else in the near future would like if at possible to be involved it would be an honour so don't hesitate to ask. time is moving on. the big day is getting ever closer. Just taken part in my first 20 mile race. Made it in 2hrs 45. Very pleased with that. Was very hard work from 17 miles but thinkng of Ellie-mai got me through. Hope she is there to help me in Edinburgh

12 week countdown has begun. Took part in the Haweswater Half Marathon last weekend as a training run. Really enjoed the whole weekend despite the hailstone!! Have booked into my first 20mile run on sunday week. Heres hoping!! So proud to be doing this in memory of Ellie Mai
